CBSF Leadership Team

Kate Konrad

Grad year: May 2021

Kate didn’t connect with her youth group growing up, but, following the advice of her older brother, she tried CBSF freshman year and has been enjoying it ever since! Born and raised in Raleigh, she loves outdoor activities (hiking and kayaking sort of deal, not sports as much), knitting and sewing (ask me about my socks!), and music (choir, band, classical, Billy Joel, you name it!).

Rev. Lawrence Powers

CBFNC Triangle Area Campus Minister (Raleigh Area, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke),

Lawrence serves as the CBSF Campus Minister for the Raleigh Area, UNC-Chapel Hill and as the Co-Campus Minister at Duke University. Lawrence graduated from Campbell University in 2009 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy and from the Campbell University Divinity School in 2013 with his Master of Divinity degree.

Lawrence loves working with students and journeying alongside them as they move through their college years. His philosophy is that every person should be given the space and ability to claim their own faith identity and wrestle with the calling that God has placed on their lives. This is the identity behind CBSF’s events in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and at Duke.

Lawrence is married to Heather, a Certified Athletic Trainer and together they have two sons and two dogs.

Lawrence previously served as CBFNC Campus Minister at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
